Cyclical Transformation

Blogging is like a cyclical process. It used to be so popular that it once dominated the internet scene. Then, friendster came along before facebook declared itself boss. By the way, the hit counts to facebook has exceeded that of Pornography.

Next, twitter came along and your thoughts and expression are shorted to 140 characters. Maybe that is the reason why I cant seem to expand my thoughts and pointers quickly enough. Where do blog stand in all this changes? I guess we can say that it has become an avenue where we all come back to pen down our thoughts most intimate to us. A place where we feel that our thoughts can be openly shared without the scrutiny of your friends. There are some friends who are still reading it, but much lesser compared to 4-5 years ago.

The layout for blogger may have changed, but the deep cry for your thoughts to be penned down in this digital space is still undeniable. Well, that is for me. What about you?

well, i don't really agree about the w/o scrutiny part. It's exactly because of the openness of the blogging platform, and we have to be a lot more cryptic when we are blogging. I'm excessive cryptic sometimes, really.

Moreover, people have been penning down thoughts years ago. think about cavemen writing on rocks, and people writing in diaries. Writing about how you feel isn't really a new thing.

Instead, what has changed is the yearning to be heard, where one wants to gain acceptance from others (even strangers) and gain recognition for what he stands for.

The craving for attention is so easily achieved online!
