Week 30 & 31: Happy 43rd National Bdae!

Batman In salute to the nation =D

Alright, after 5 months of guerrillas, i mean gruelling training, it is over!

Back in April, we first remembered how many of us chao keng ( not me though) to not get into the parade, people who claimed they have hunchback, leg pain and blah blah blah more reasons to not get into the parade. Well, guess it is their loss. that very night when we were marching at the parade square for the selection test. It seemed more like defaulter's parade to me. Oh well. 90 were selected with a few as reserves.

Everybody had high hopes to be in the GOH. In the past few years, that have been the case for Navy. Half from the naval diving unit and the other half from the Institute of Maritime Operations which I am currently in now. But guess, they didn't picked my batch. I guess it was for the obvious reasons. I cant imagine my batch in GOH. Somebody must have been killed by a BLANK round already. ( Note my sarcasm.)

So off we go, we went to Nee Soon Camp for the first session. Felt like cramp. We had to "Sedia to Senangdiri" for like half an hour? To and from. Legs must be 90 degrees, when we bang our fet must hear the clear cut bang. Blah Blah. Few weeks at Nee Soon, then we had the chance to go see what Bedok Camp is like.

Now I know why my Guards Warrant Officer in BMT like to call the stadium the Ring of Fire. The Bedok Camp have a freaking huge words at the control room there. RING OF FIRE. lol. They Built a replica of the Marina Platform on the field out of containers. Felt that the rehearsal that day was quite messy, but quite a feat to built a two-tier stage. Kudos to those Banglas.

Soon we went to Marina Bay Platform. First time I had been there. More or less we are used to the practices and everything le. One biggest hoo ha that happened was on the 3rd National Education Show. The Colours Party did not hear the Drumbeat, or was it the drumbeat that was not played, they did not marched out to form the straight line. Major cockup. If they were to cock up on the actual day, they will be charged I think. >_< class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_21">Kuan Yew puts on the Poncho for him. Quite a unique sight i must say. =D

So, while Singaporeans were enjoying the fireworks, the marching contingent had to head back to camp to return their rifles . Oh well. Looking forward to thursday free dinner for us . LOL. Make me so Yau Khwee like that. HAve an appreciation dinner this Thursday at this place called Chevron In the far ends of this island.

Hope there is post NDP sale man. Hoping to boost the economy =D

Sad part is that, Ok la, not blaming la, but alot of people keep asking me out on saturdays. And I tld them repeatedly I wasn't free. Not the first time, happened like 3 or 4 times. I get abit frustrated sometimes. Cos as you are marrching, you will be thinking ,

"ooh ur frens are out there enjoying themselves and they keep forgetting you are marching>_<"

Those on the parade with their saturdays being sacrificed. Teng Wenyuan and Tan Jian Rong.

Weijie was there with the SAF Military Band. Kenneth Koh was acting as a statue...lol... Military Police.

Sergeant Farid was there as a "Traffic Police"

Guess they are alll the familiar faces I saw all know of that were at the parade.

Week 29: Whole week at camp

It has been a long time since I had been staying in camp for so long.  Booked in on Monday night and booked out on Saturday night.  

Did duty on Wednesdays. I had something against this colour Black. "It" pissed me the entire week, from blank promises to being "shitty" when  it came to marching.  

Oh well, basically did duty on wednesday night i think. 2 days before seventh month came. Please take care for those at fieldcamp and doing duty at night. There has been a rumour that had been going on like the beret can ward off supernatural stuff. Well, according to my course instructor. Yes, the crest on all berets have been so called blessed by the 7 religions in Singapore. So to all SAF personnel, please treat the beret with upmost care. There is a reason why we cant wear beret outside of camp. ( That is what I heard from those regulars).

Whole bulk of female friends are starting school today I guess. 2 more years for me. oh well. 

Oh yeah, just remembered, last week after collecting my cert, I saw Jian Yao. I only responded on the second time he called me. haha.  Oh well, Guess alot of NS men will face a decrease in their hearing ability. Whole day deal with guns, artillery, tank noises, metador firing, if not it will be the sergeants shouting at your ear, officers screaming mad, RSMs going mad with our lous marching , if not hearing loss will be due to listening to Ipod or Psps. Hahas. 

Looks like he isnt doing that well. Hahas, really reminded me of how I was in his situation last year. Felt abit lost with the sucky grades. Just told him to persevere and strife on. Whole bulk of JC students go through the same thing. Fail examsand everything. But it doesnt happen to some though. Like the one in my bunk. He lowest grades was C or D only throughout the 2 years . -_-" Haha. Anyway, to all j2s. Jia you man! FOCUS ON HAT YOU WANT IN UNI!

Ok. Watching Money No Enough 2 with JJ, makan then book in. Ta Da. I must slack to my best this week. My last chance of enjoying the Panglima Resort with such scenic view out of my bunk. A  place so safely guarded by Sea soldiers and frigates, with occasional visits like the US Aircraft carriers. Wuahaha. ok. 

Oh Yeah, still to add on. I really salute the Guards. They didnt slept from Friday to Saturday night to carry out security checks around the whole Marina. I really salute them sia. They hidden warriors behind the scene. They are the ones who ensure the asses of those watching NDP, will not get ripped by bombs. Those Singaporeans going to watch the Parade. A thanks to them will mean alot to them =D

I just went for a 3 minute haircut. Super duper quick  one.

Notice the same idea used? =) Well, there has been a hoo ha about it. Supposedly, huge sum of money is paid to this private firm to do this music video. Eh so siingaporeans are complaining why is the idea coped from another country's, no originality. What is your view?

Haha. Im alright with it. What's done is done. People notices the video instead of the song. Main focus should be the song right? Personally feel the tune abit hard to memorise. No feel after hearing it. So yeah lor. Oh well. I prefer the accapella We are Singapore y Jaceytha Abi-something-something. Her name too long and confusing. Oh well, all my indian friends name are long and confusing. Except Chris I guess. Lol.

NDP Preview 1

Spoilers of NDP Ahead. Read it if you want to know what is happening.

Basically, the whole parade starts at around 5.30pm or earlier. I not very sue. These are the things you will see. Speedboats frm the Guards. Old type of sampan boats.



You will get to see the paragliders. They are from NDU if Im not wrong. Ppl once complained that they were getting to close to the expressway -_-"




And You get too see a Helicopter passing motion from the skies=D Hahahs, all time favourtie, Lao Jiao of the Red Berets. They are all the old ones k. Most of them are warrant officer if Im not wrong again. hahas.







My sis took a pic of one of them. Ooh. She loves matured guys =P

Yippee. So after those Lao Jiaos. You have the Trumpet sound which siganls the start of the parade.

Searched the whole youtube, but there isn't any video that shows the past supporting contingent march in. Sad sia. All attention thrown to the GOH. Somehow or rather expected though. Try to spot me . I am just behing the Contingent commander. In Row 6 from the last man.

Then comes the Cabinet Ministers and the other MPs. Member of Parliaments. Not Military Police....Hahas. Druing the Previews 2 Infantry soldiers will carry the "CM" signboard and walk down. Audience will keep clapping like mad and cheering them on >_<. This happened when SM, MM and PM comes. SAF really do have officers that quite look like them. Wuahah. Once "His Excellency" comes, all of us must Hormat. And the National Anthem plays.. And you get to see the Super Puma. Same stuff. And the Super huge Singapore flag.

Week 26: Pull it Back! Pull it Pull it Back!

Woot. NE 1 Show is over. My mum said it wasn't nice. Reason? The chair too hard to sit -_-' GRRRRRR... Hahas.. joking la. Overall very nice. Transformation super nice. RSAF Black Knights Crowd Favourite. Commandos Parachutes also one of the nicest. My mum heart stopped when she saw those "Bird droppings" from the Helicopter. LoL. Fireworks as usual was nice=D

The fun pack kinda of looked super artistically bombastic, and the stuff inside as usual are cool and funky. But the bag are for ah sohs to carry to markets to buy food and veggies la... OOps.

Nuff said bout NDP. 5 More to go. Jia you GUARDS! lol. Sian half, they are the tireless ones working behind to ensure everyone get their goodie bags and stuff like that. But who do you see at the GOH? COMMANDOS! Red Berets. Woot!. K la, I dunno why they want to set up this Best Combat Unit thingy. Somehow, Commandos like become a Regular with the award. Sign Contract Sia.

Hmm, spent the whole week jumping up and down in bunk. JX bought a new speakers, so we have officially turned into a Disco. Lol. Blasting music. Siao le la. Missed silver by 4cm. That means hell lot to me. Cos i missed a bonus equivalent to one fifth of my pay. What to do.... Please try again next year.

We are doing up the Racial Harmony thing. Oh well. The next big thing for us.
Nuff said. Going to sleep. Wakey wakey at 6 tmr. Haven pack my bags yet. Lol.

Week 24: Sleep, Sleep and nothing but sleep.

Yup. M back . Reached back home at an unhly time of 10pm. Busy selling my soul at Marina Bay. Feel so patriotic all of a sudden, cos all the NDP songs are like whirling about in my head. I have the confidence to become the Parade Commander le. LOL. All the commands.
Sad thing is that we cant watch the Black Knights in display and the bomburst in salute to the nation=( Can only watch it on tv the week after NDP i guess.

Alright kep highlights of this week.
Monday: Book In, Sleep.

Tuesday: EME, breakfast, sleep, COLOURS, read newspapers, sleep, lunch, sleep in bunk, sleep, swimming, dinner, rounds, sleep.

Wednesday: EME ( Navy don't call it 5 BX, it is called the Early Morning Exercise), breakfast, sleep,COLOURS, read newspapers, sleep, lunch, sleep in bunk, sleep, dinner, rounds, sleep.

Thursday: EME, breakfast, sleep, COLOURS, read newspapers, sleep, lunch, sleep in bunk, sleep, swimming, dinner, Concert MDC peeps came down Acapella group and performance by the South East Asia Number one rapper, he is from singapore then go back bunk sleep.

Friday: EME ( Navy don't call it 5 BX, it is called the Early Morning Exercise), breakfast, sleep,COLOURS, read newspapers, sleep, lunch, sleep in bunk, sleep, dinner, rounds, sleep.

Saturday: Wake up, draw arms, brunch, Take bus head to Marina Bay, Sleep, 1st run, sleep, Actual Full Dress Rehearsal, sleep, wash up., Book Out.

That is the life of me=P. OOh, I will be a radar specialist from now on. Just got my posting.

Like a very nice song from the concert. From Beyond. Melvin introduced me to this band. Very touching their songs.  This one was one of their most famous ones.

Haiz, one more major events are the posting of the Tekong Boys of April. Kinda of sad for some of them. Haiz, of all guards-_-". Wish all of you all the best in your new vocations. Please take care of yourselves.=D

Week 23: The Return of the Underworld. Shagged NDP rehearsal.

Main highlight of the week. 2 SAF servicemen passed away. More or less is heat exhaustion. SAF stopped all physical activities. But not NDP rehearsal... LOL. Anyway, yeah. sadded la. in 1 month 3 gone. 1 police, 1 air force, 1 infantry.

Oh well. Ah my birthday. Stuck at camp. Had a really wonderful surprise. Really touched.
Smses flooded my inbox. Lesi another funny girl. Haiyo. Buay Tahan sia.

Hmm. Oh yeah. Return of the dark knight and also the underworld. Religion. One senstive issued that sparked a mass brawl.

This has been one freaking exciting and filled of surprise week.

Of cos for both of us 2=D

Update more tomorrow. Really shaggd from today. Saw felix nuffnang earnings more than me. Wanna cry le. Sun was mad today, lots of people fell out. And also the funny stuff SAF do. haha. Sometimes really add flavouring to the NS life.

Oh well. of I go. Tired tired tired.

Week 22: Elson Ptosis Tortoise Dolphin Porridge "Ang Tiong " Chuang Hongzhou

My nickname grows longer each passing week...

Alright. Will devote a post to the latest pokemon craze that is sweeping through Endurance house. LOL. Especially my bunk.

WOke up at 7am. Like chalet like that. Breakfast was one of the worst ever I had. Porridge-_-" I think I will taste better than it. Decided to take the rice and the fish cake. pathetic. But bo pian la. Cos we all waiting for yummy food later on.

More on NDP. Heavy rain today. It was like pouring. N some oink oink have to sleep on newpspapers or soemthing. cant hear clearly what she said. Well, hope she won;t end up like some pig rolling on mud. Hahas! OOps, monday tio whack.Haha. KK , digress too much. Yeah, walked to the tentage and then waited patiently. RAained and rained. The metal bar shfted due tot the wind and almost threatened to kill one of our warrant officers. He was like standing there blur blur. We shouted like 4 to 5 times b4 he responded lor.

Lunch was KFC!! 2 weeks ago was Pizza Hut, last week was singapoe food industries, this week was KFC's turn lor. hahas. Inside the pack was the Fish ole burger ( very dry, but still nice at that point of time. Was supeer hungry le...) 3 pieces of popcorn chicken and Mashed potato. Yeah. Not bad eh. Waited for awhile while some people entertained us. Ah Gong ( Mr Blur) Showed us what he learnt from Hai Die music School. He rapped Jay Chou's Huo Yuan Jia! Please dial and support him when he join JUe Dui Superstar upon is ORD date. I really wanna see if he pass the audition.
GG , SJ were like singing patriotic songs. Livening up the spirit which was dampened by the rain( pun not intended).

All in all, not bad la training. Gonna hormut for 1 min 28 seconds for the national Anthem, plus For MR President plus MR Prime Minister.

Waited for 1 hr 30 minutes for the beloved bus to arrive. Reache dback camp was already so late. gave up the plan to meet the VSCO guys. Sadded. Too late and too shagged. Scared I may end up like last week. Super stone face.

Alright time to sleep. Looks like replied a tad too late. >_<. off to dreamland.....

Guards!

Cant think of a title. So put gurads. Entered the Guards camp yesterday.
If those who watch the news , they reported about the main highlights of this year ND 2008.
Didn't knew that the Media went to do a report.

Well, U might think. Why the heck we went to Bedok camp? It doesn't even looks like Marina Bay Pontoon. Well. SAF always have its way=) I wonder is it the combat engineers or Bangals built the whole thing. They manage to build the ''fake'' Marina Pontoon in the Ring of Fire of the stadium. Our jaws dropped when we saw it. LOL.When i first saw it, I was like marvellous. They really have their ways.

This week onwards, it should have been at Marina Bay training. But because too much things are happening there. Road works for F1, increasing the seat capacity. Fixing of the Pontoon., or rather, changing from a football pitch to the pontoon. Marina has become a nice place to be in. The mettalic Jurong Bird park. Freaking hell. If u drive On ECP, past the land which the IR will be on, thee is approximately 400 over cranes working and rushing to build the resort. Accord to melv, half the cranes tere are borrowed overseas cos there is a shortage in Singapore. Imagaine the Desperation!

Went to pastamania after book out. Tried to find this book but cant. Walked all the way to the 17 bustop from TM. Phew. Screw SBS. Waited an hour for 17. Half stoning, half thinking. On the bus. Half stoning half thinking. went past the bustop. Realised WY shifted house. Kinda of realised STM is acting on me again.

Nothing much for the night. I guess. Just blogging and catching up of recent news. Ta Da.
